Extending Millennium Boulevard with Advanced Engineering and Storm Sewer Design in NEOCOM Industrial Park
For the Millennium Boulevard Extension, we undertook the complex and multi-faceted design of a critical extension within NEOCOM Industrial Park, a thriving hub that houses prominent businesses such as Shearer’s Snacks, E-Tank, and BJ Services, formerly Baker Hughes. The project involved the extension of 3,000 linear feet of an existing industrial park roadway, requiring comprehensive engineering solutions that included full-depth pavement design to ensure durability and longevity under heavy industrial traffic.
A major component of the project was the design of a new storm sewer system, which included the installation of curb and gutter, catch basins, manholes, and water quality structures. These elements were carefully engineered to manage stormwater efficiently, protect the roadway, and enhance the overall environmental sustainability of the industrial park. The storm sewer system was designed with varying sizes of piping to accommodate different drainage needs across the extension, ensuring optimal water flow and minimizing the risk of flooding.
In addition to the storm sewer system, we also managed the relocation of a 3,000-linear-foot water line, a critical infrastructure element that required precise coordination to maintain service continuity and avoid disruptions to the park’s existing operations. Further, the design included 2,200 linear feet of a new 18-inch sanitary sewer system, providing robust and reliable waste management solutions for the expanding industrial area.
Beyond the technical aspects, our team also prepared and successfully secured a significant grant application through the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Ohio Development Services Agency. The grant, totaling $1,002,717.00, was instrumental in funding the project and underscores our capability in navigating complex funding processes to support large-scale industrial developments. This project not only extended the roadway infrastructure within NEOCOM Industrial Park but also reinforced the park’s capacity to support future growth and attract new businesses, contributing to the region’s economic vitality.
